My car alarm is keeping me from being able to start my car?

I had some cables running from the battery to the rear of the car where a sound system had been hooked up. Recently the sound system was sold but the live wires were still sticking out in the trunk. We had the wires pulled out, and disconnected from the battery- after doing so the car wouldn’t start? Any ideas? We disconnected the battery and it restarted an alarm system we’d had years ago on the car- (we do not have a remote anymore). Is there a way to disconnect the alarm ourselves?

2000 Nissan Sentra, car alarm keeps going off even when using unlock button on key?

Although we used the buttons to unlock the car like we always do, when we try to start the car up, the alarm goes on. What can we do?
